On March 3, 2018, the 2nd International Space Exploration Forum (ISEF2) was held in Japan hosted by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, supported by the Cabinet Office, METI, MOFA and JAXA. At the Forum, representatives of more than 40 nations and organizations confirmed the strengthening of international collaboration toward sustainable space exploration and the importance of wider industry engagement as well as the nurturing of next generation human resources.

In response to this result, a public symposium will be held with the purpose of introducing the latest situation in Japan and abroad concerning integrated robotic and human space exploration as global endeavors. With a main focus on efforts concerning the Moon and Mars, international partners, stakeholders from the industry, government and academia along with leading experts from various fields will participate as speakers. Discussions will be held on issues such as shared value and visions of science and human expansion, how the industry views potential of new space economy and their innovative capabilities, and partnerships among industry, government and academia.
